Akash Ram has been an outstanding Cricketer and has been recognized as a left arm spinner of the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association from the year 2008. He was selected by the BCCI for the Under-16 National camp. He is currently playing for Under-19 Zonal Team.
Agneeshwar is the International swimmer who began his first stroke at CV. He was the captain of the TN team. He was in the team for the world championship at Melbourne.
Jayawant Vijaykumar has created massive waves on his way up the diving board of success with 170 gold medals, most of them being at the International Level. He is the only swimmer from Tamil Nadu to be selected to represent India at the Asian Age Group Swimming Championship at Jakarta, Indonesia. He has been titled as the “Aquatic Aquamarine” by WE magazine and the Rotary Club of Madras has honoured him with the “Emerging Swimming Champion” award.
Sushmitha R is an Under-14 National Champion. She won the SGFI championship in 2012. She was one among the seven girls to represent Tamil Nadu at the National Games in Ranchi, where she bagged three medals in the open category.
Shweta Sadanand is one of the best girl sailors that India has today. She won the “Best Young Sailor” award at the age of 9. She has been representing India at various sailing championships held in Bahrain, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia etc. She has also represented India at the “Laser 4.7 World Championship” in San Francisco, USA. The Yachting Association of India has presented her the “Engineer-in-Chief” Trophy as the most promising lady sailor in the year 2010.
Sneha Mohan, the school topper for the year 2011-2012 has other reasons to be proud of. She stood 16th in the AIIMS MBBS Entrance Examination and 41st in the All India Pre-Medical Test.
Arts and Culture:
G.V. Prakash and Saindhavi – the couple musicians have been a part of this institution who have been bringing laurels in their respective field. G.V. Prakash is an established music composer and Saindhavi is a playback singer with a strong background in Carnatic music.
Shruthi Kamath – is a gold medalist in the Asian Junior Rowing Championship in 2010 and is still growing strong as a rower.
Aparna Chandran has represented the Tamil Nadu state basketball team in the under-16 category. She participated in the national youth tournament held at Kolkata in which the team secured the runners up position. She was adjudged the best player and best all-rounder in the CBSE cluster-V Basketball tournament. She was also adjudged the best player in the Kamatchi Sundaram Memorial Basketball tournament and Santhome Basketball Tournament.
She was the top scorer in the CBSE National Basketball Championship held in Tirupathi.
Captain of the school’s cricket team, all-rounder Samruddh Bhat of XII has been selected to represent the Tamil Nadu Under-19 cricket team for the 2014-15 season. A right arm fast bowler who opens the bowling for the state team and an attacking, left-handed top-order batsman, Samruddh has represented the school at every level from the age of 7. At the age of 9, he overcame a career-threatening injury (which put him in a wheelchair for months) caused by a road accident and has since gone on to be part of many a memorable victory. In June 2014, a month before his 17th birthday, Samruddh signed his first professional contract with Kalpathi Investments and turned out for their team Young Stars CC in the TNCA 1st division league. The team qualified for the season’s semifinals (to be held in 2015). Samruddh has always been supported and encouraged through his journey by Principal, Mrs. S. Amudhalakshmi, Cricket coach Mr. Gunaseelan and every single one of his teachers at the school. He hopes to do them proud.
Thanekaivel has been attending drawing and painting competitions since his second grade. He has received state, national and international awards and appreciation for his works which range from pencils, pastels, charcoal, poster colours and acrylic paints. His work has been published and he has been mentioned in local newspaper and magazines. His name was also mentioned in ‘India Post’, a United States magazine for presenting a portrait of their president Mr. Obama and our then Prime Minister Mr. Manmohan depicting the India-US collaboration. He has also received appreciation from our former president Dr. Abdul Kalam. His work of art has graced art galleries in our city. And he is currently working on a solo exhibition to be held in 2015.
